About

Rankings for any competition, without the spreadsheet

MatchRank started as a way to settle office arguments about who is actually the best at pool. It grew into a free, general-purpose Elo rating system that works for ping pong ladders, chess clubs, board game nights, five-a-side football, esports and anything else where people compete.

Real Elo ratings

Everyone starts at 1500. Beating a stronger opponent moves your rating more than beating a weaker one, so the leaderboard reflects who you beat, not just how often you play.

Ladders and tournaments

Run an ongoing ladder where matches can be reported any time, or a bracket tournament with automatic seeding by rating. Teams and ad-hoc pairings are supported too.

Built to share

Invite people with a link, make your leaderboard public so anyone can follow it, and let members report their own results from a phone.

Free, with no catch

There are no paid tiers, no player limits and no ads. MatchRank is a side project built and run by one developer who wanted a better way to track games with friends.

How it works

  1. Sign in with Google. There is no separate account to create.
  2. Create a league and pick a ladder or a tournament format.
  3. Add players, or share an invite link and let them add themselves.
  4. Report matches. Ratings, streaks, form and history update instantly.
